Find Your Bridal Style With the Which Bride Are You Quiz

By Laurie Underwood, Founder and Designer of Laury Bride + Living

You may have a phone full of wedding dresses and still find it difficult to explain what you want.

One image has a neckline you love. Another has a skirt you can imagine moving in. A third makes you pause for a reason you cannot quite name.

That is a perfectly useful place to begin.

The Which Bride Are You quiz is an invitation to spend a little time considering your bridal direction. I want you to approach it with curiosity about your preferences and the gown experience that would feel right for you.

Consider the dress and the experience

When you are finding your bridal style, there are two conversations worth having.

The first concerns the look. What shapes, details and textures catch your attention? What would you enjoy wearing for the different parts of your day?

The second concerns how you want to arrive at that look.

You may want to begin with an existing Laury Bride design that already speaks to you. You may enjoy the thought of developing an original gown through a design conversation. You may have a particular detail that calls for a more involved couture approach.

Understanding how you like to make decisions can be as helpful as knowing which neckline you prefer.

Answer from where you are now

Before you take a wedding dress quiz, give yourself a moment away from other people's expectations.

Think about what you would choose if you could hear your own answer clearly. You can appreciate your mother's taste and still have a different preference. You can love a friend's wedding photographs and want a different feeling for your day.

Be honest about the experience you want, too. Some women enjoy considering many small design decisions. Others feel more comfortable responding to something they can see and try.

Your current preferences are a useful starting point. They are allowed to develop as you learn.

Turn your result into a conversation

After taking the quiz, pause before returning to your saved images.

Write down what resonated with you and what you still want to understand. If a description feels right, explain why. If you are unsure, bring that uncertainty into your appointment.

Try finishing these sentences:

  • “I feel most like myself when I wear…”

  • “The detail I keep coming back to is…”

  • “I would like guidance with…”

These are my suggestions for reflecting afterward. They can help you describe your preferences in language a designer can use.

For example, “I love a clean gown, and I want something special when I turn around” opens a conversation about the back, train and overall proportion. That is more specific than asking for a gown that is simply “different.”

Leave room for discovery

You may respond to more than one direction. A woman who loves a sculpted silhouette can also love an airy skirt. Someone drawn to restraint may still want one expressive detail.

That range is useful.

An appointment lets us explore how your preferences work together in an actual gown. We can discuss proportion, the amount of detail and the experience of wearing it. The quiz gives you something to think about before that conversation; the gown develops through closer attention to you.

Take your next step with intention

At Laury Bride, the available pathways are The Signature, The Becoming and The Only One. Each offers a different starting point for choosing or developing your gown. You can explore the three gown experiences as you consider how you would like to begin.

There is room to ask questions before you have a complete vision.

Save anything you want to discuss and bring it with you. We can use it to decide which gowns or design possibilities to explore first.

Take the Which Bride Are You quiz, then book a conversation with me when you are ready to explore your gown.
